The reason for this role:
The Regional Product Manager is accountable to the General Manager - Technical Services for Goldwind Australia's technical sales and development support.
What you will be doing?
- Develop and manage a plan to complete the technical requirements of Goldwind's Australian projects.
- Ensure local standard compliance, and the correct certification of Goldwind products.
- Coordinate wind engineering work to select suitable turbines for sites, and to assess energy production and noise compliance.
- Develop EPC and TSA contract technical appendices including specifications, guarantees, wind turbine configurations.
- Coordinate the provision of technical support to assist the achievement of turbine sales in Australia.
- Provide technical support and assistance to external customers on the capabilities of Goldwind products including site visits to operating Goldwind projects.
- Manage independent technical Due Diligence. Close out banks and customer’s issues by providing technical information.
- Manage external consultants to deliver technical analysis to Goldwind's project needs.
- Investigate and assess wind turbine market in coordination with Goldwind sales staff, define future product needs and provide feedback to R&D.
- Take a lead role in Goldwind’s global product planning committee on behalf of Goldwind Australia.
- Mentor, direct, and manage the activities of other technical services staff.
- Ensure that turbine, tower supply and foundations are to Goldwind specification and quality requirements.
- Assist the Goldwind Australia team in complying with safety, OH&S and environmental and risk management requirements.
- Other technical tasks as directed by the Technical Services Manager from time to time.
What does your background look like?
- Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering discipline (electrical, mechanical, or renewable engineering)
- Specific experience in Wind Power Development and wind turbine technology.
- Strong interpersonal skills and business acumen.
- Ability to manage complex technical issues.
- Good knowledge of Wind Power technology specifically Goldwind's products.
- Ability to work effectively in an Australia/China cross cultural environment.
- Chinese language skills may be an advantage.
