About the Role
The primary focus for this role will be to lead the food technologist team to facilitate the implementation of new meal concepts within our current product offerings and new meal categories from a technical point of view into our MQF facilities. Part of this role will also see you involved in monitoring, maintaining and reporting on current products, processes and operating standards.
- Application of food science knowledge in ingredient functionality and process technology to implement new or improve existing products within the MQF facility.
- Liaise with other R&D functions, Quality Assurance, Safety & Operations departments to provide technical support as required on current & new products or process.
- Assist other R&D functions in the validation of new equipment ensuring technical information is provided to the relevant supporting teams.
- Liaising with the QA Food Safety Manager to ensure required microbial testing standards are set and achieved.
- Set individual team members KPI’s to monitor, manage and follow up on performance (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually).
About You:
- Bachelor Degree in Food Science or Equivalent industry experience.
- 10+ years experience within a similar and relevant role within the food industry is essential
- able to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, quality, safety and operations
- ability to lead and mentor a team effectively to achieve development goals
- demonstrates strong people management, decision-making, problem-solving skills and negotiation skills
- strong understanding of food manufacturing processes, including materials development/application/testing.
- understanding in regulatory requirements (FSANZ / HACCP)
