This role will be based onsite in Beechworth, Victoria.

Position Objective

Our Product Innovation Specialist reports to our New Product Development (NPD) Manager and is responsible for contributing to the overall NPD strategy. This role will support the team to prepare and plan for product development and production and will play a key role in Product Innovation. You will bring creativity and passion to our Innovation team, supporting new projects transition from concept to launch and will contribute to the sensory evaluations of all our products to ensure we continue to excite Billson’s consumers.

Not only will you play an active role in Billson’s culture of innovation, but you will be working closely with the Innovation and Quality team’s researching, developing, and testing a range of products, ingredients, recipes and processes to bring Billson’s next amazing new product to life!

Responsibilities

You will report directly to the New Product Development Manager and be accountable for the following key responsibilities:

• Actively participate with the research & development of new product from conception to creation to product approval and commercialisation.
• Organisation of product samples for sensory, production or customers.
• Ensure development standards & spaces are maintained to a high level
• Contribute creative & insightful new ideas that help drive the innovation pipeline
• Administratively support the evolution of the current and expanding product portfolio’s
• Co-ordinate new product quality controls & support the daily checks and approvals of current production
• Roll up your sleeves and get creative. Provide Input into recipe development and specifications
• Monitor and contribute to team metrics and objectives to ensure meeting goals and releasing new product
• Work closely with suppliers to ensure Billson’s remains a market leader in flavour

Position Requirements and Skills

• A passion for product creation and keen eye for detail
• Further Studies preferable
• Ideally experience within the food & beverage industry
• A Creative problem solver who can address challenges in a timely manner
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with cross functional teams
• Exceptional organisational, written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in the use of most computer programs
• Keen Interest in research and the unknown, whilst possessing an understanding of the market
• Ability to analyse and collate information
• A consumer centric and positive attitude
