Metropolitan Memorial Parks (MMP) is the leading cemeteries and crematoria operator for the NSW Government, dedicated to providing genuine care and affordable choices for end-of-life matters. Established under the NSW Crown Land Management Act, MMP manages eight Memorial Parks across the Sydney and Hunter region, covering 400 hectares of Crown Land. We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Product Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Stakeholder Engagement, this newly created position plays a critical role in the development of the organisation’s product framework and the ongoing management of the product portfolio for the burial and cremation segment. The focus is both strategic and executional and includes working across the organisation to collaboratively develop and launch product go to market strategies and plans to drive sustained growth in line with the organisational objectives.
In addition, the role is responsible for;
- Establishing a strong cross-functional network, both internal and external to understand customer, industry, and operational needs.
- Leading cross-functional project teams to deliver successful product initiatives on time and within budget.
- Collaboration with the sales and marketing teams to create, manage, and execute segment and product go-to-market strategies and developing associated tools, assets, and collateral.
- Leading the launch of products including the provision of training to internal stakeholders for successful implementation.
- Developing and providing insights for new product development strategies and optimisation of current products.
- Recommending and developing a pipeline of new product development.
- Keeping informed on market drivers, industry trends, regulations, and innovations related to cemetery products and services.
- Managing budgets for product development projects and monitoring/analysing financial performance related to cemetery products.
- Develop data-driven insights to support decisions to optimize opportunities.
- Explore and integrate technology solutions that enhance product initiatives and their development.
The ability to navigate the emotional aspects associated with end-of-life matters to ensure a respectful and meaningful approach to cemetery products and services is key to your success in this role in addition to the following experience:
- Strong product management experience with the ability to develop and execute product strategies, oversee the entire product lifecycle, and drive continuous improvement.
- Experience in defining and prioritising product features based on customer needs and market trends.
- Proficiency in project management and leading cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful product launches.
- Expert ability in communication to effectively engage with internal, external and industry stakeholders and community members.
- Experience in the applications of laws, regulations, and ethical standards in project development.
- A well-developed understanding of marketing principles and the ability to develop effective strategies for promoting products and services.
