Production Chemist

About the Company:
Our client is a leading Australian radiopharmaceutical manufacturer who are eager to expand their Brisbane team with a new Production Chemist.
 
About the Role:
As a Production Chemist, reporting to the Facility Manager, you will be responsible for the production of radiopharmaceuticals, performing and reporting on QC product tests and assisting with data analysis, reporting and documentation review/development.
Due to the nature of the business, the successful candidate must be available to work on a rotating roster between night shift (manufacturing/ production) commencing ~12.00am, morning shift (manufacturing/ production) commencing ~ 5.00am and day shift (pre-production preparation and customer interface) commencing ~8.00am.

Previous experience in a similar role, working under GMP conditions is desirable, however, anyone with lab or GMP experience is encouraged to apply!
Duties:

• Manufacture of PET radiopharmaceuticals;
• Adherence to aseptic processes;
• Adherence to all operational procedures within the Quality Management System (QMS);
• Collation and attendance to customer orders;
• Updating manufacture and dispensing spreadsheets daily;
• Customer communication if there is an impact on supply, as required;
• Attendance to labelling, packaging, dispatch and logistics requirement;
• Updating and reporting on performance issues;
• Cleaning of controlled environment and general areas;
• Attendance to other assigned activities;
• Completion of all required documentation;
• Attendance to or assisting with reagent preparation and chemical testing;
• Assisting with documentation development/review;
• Structured reporting and data analysis;
• Identifying and reporting operational or facility risks;
• Undertaking specialist and or leadership activities in particular areas, processes or products;
• Ensuring that all deviations and associated actions are reported and investigated in accordance with company procedures.

Skills/Experience:
To be considered for the Production Chemist position candidates must have:

• Science or pharmaceutical degree highly desirable;
• Previous experience undertaking shift work (desirable);
• Previous experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry (desirable);
• Understanding of GMP and quality assurance (desirable);
• Attention to detail and accuracy with an ability to follow standard operating procedures;
• Good interpersonal skills that will allow for strong collaboration within a team working environment;
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to work within deadlines;
• Ability to work without direct supervision;
• Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new tasks and systems;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills;
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and issue resolution.

Other Requirements:

• A current driver’s licence;
• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to commence in the role;
• A pre-employment medical will be required prior to the commencement of employment.
