Production Coordinator

The CompanyOur client is a Global Chemical Provided with over 100 years experience with a National presence, who are highly regarded in their space. With 9 sites within the APAC region & 64 locations worldwide there is ample opportunity for their people to succeed. Reporting initially to the the site Manager you will be responsible for leading all Environmental Health Safety & Quality across the site and continue to develop and implement best practice. The exciting part of this role you will be also trained over 12 months to eventually move into the Site Managers role. 

The Role

Reporting to the Site Manager, your key responsibilities will include

• Maintain and further develop the companies current EHSQ strategy, objects and targets with management. Champion and drive their safety culture.
• Educate and advise all levels of management and employees in the principles and practices of a safe work place. Including EHSQ training of staff.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant EHSQ legislation.
• Maintaining documentation for ISO9001 Quality and ISO14001 Environmental Systems and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
• Organising plant and system audits to cover EHSQ.
• Undertaking risk analyses and implementing risk control procedures.
• Conduct quarterly EHSQ meetings and twice yearly Management reviews
• Assist in coordinating return to work programs.You will be visible on the factory floor, ensuring commitment to safety.
• Drive a safety-first culture and promote staff to identify and implement OH&S improvements throughout the operation.
• Work cohesively with the Maintenance team to develop and implement strategies to meet common goals across plant performance.
• Assisting Production Supervisor & Site Manager with Production needs and requirements 

Your Background
You will work closely with the Site Manager on a day to day basis as part of this role will be learning and progressing eventually to the role of Site Manager. It will be advantageous having a chemical or manufacturing background so you have a deep understanding of production best practices. You also must have a background within EHSQ and have an up to date understanding of the legislation. 

• A strong leadership background and skillset, with an ability to coach and develop operators to deliver results.
• Experience with driving and monitoring key performance measures focusing on Lost Time Injuries, labour cost and waste.
• Ability to communicate at all levels of the business cycle
• Experience with implementing and monitoring performance of the quality, safety and production team, including the setting and measurement of team objective’s and KPI’s.
• Strong communication, coaching, consultation and negotiation skills with an ability to engage and influence stakeholders, as well as being able to connect with people at different levels.
• A hands-on leader with a can-do attitude.
• Degree Qualified in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
