Job DescriptionAbout this opportunityThe Purpose of this role is to coordinate safe, efficient, and effective processes in Thermoforming and Extrusion at the PACT Packaging - Broadmeadows plant. This includes capturing and coordinating information to support production performance improvement, administering a 5S program and administering production worker training.The
Production Coordinator will provide support to the Production Manager including development and introduction of new production initiatives.
Your key responsibilities will be to:- Develop and maintain a team that has the required skills to achieve best practice performance e.g.: Recruiting and inducting casuals; Developing skills for permanent employees; processing labour records each day; processing leave requests; managing absences etc.
- Capture and document production performance, provide analysis and improvement options.
- Identify significant production performance opportunities and collect data to support improvement plans.
- Assist with new product introductions.
- Investigate thermoforming quality issues that maybe related to material issues
Your skills and experienceTo be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- Supervisory experience - Essential
- Plastics Industry Experience & Thermoforming experience - Desirable not essential
- Continuous improvements knowledge, best practice - Lean, Six sigma & Good Analytical skills
- Recruiting and training experience
- Computer skills. Moderate proficiency with Excel and Word. Capable of learning and using SAP
- Strong service ethic & Attention to detail.
- Strong clerical and administrative skills.
- High standards of workplace management - leadership; housekeeping.
QualificationsEssential:- Completed secondary school.
Desirable:- Tertiary qualification in Plastics or Engineering
