As Production and Inventory Controller, you will be responsible for managing the inventory, stock control, preparing and completing Purchase Orders (PO) for local and overseas vendors in line with stock replenishment plan of the business. Your duties also include reviewing, booking, and managing orders based on bill of materials (BOM), receiving deliveries, working with accredited logistics service providers (LSP), and managing lead time to ensure prompt deliveries.
Your role facilitates prompt communication between vendors, warehouses, and logistics service providers, internal stakeholders such as product development, sales, customer services and finance to promote a healthy and efficient supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all purchase orders (PO) are created in line with the stock management portal of the business
- Ensure all the information on the PO is accurate and prompt communication of PO to vendor
- Identify and resolve issues that arise during shipment, such as out of stock, excess stock, or shipment delays
- Ensure all shipping documentation related to overseas shipments both imports and exports are accurate, on-time, and complete
- Arrange, expedite, and book special shipping arrangements as necessary
- Update and maintain Item Master and Vendor details in SAP Business One
- Coordinate the delivery with logistics service providers (LSP) to ensure prompt and proper movement of order and shipments
- Management of invoices from freight forwarders, third-party warehouses, and logistics service providers
- Assist in managing and developing processes that make the supply chain more efficient and organised
As a Production & Inventory Controller, you are required with the range of skills and industry knowledge of best practices to maintain and improve the stages of the supply chain. Those skills are:
- Effective communication, including writing, speaking and interpersonal communication
- Quick critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Good customer service and client relations skills
- Good collaboration and teamwork abilities
- Good time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced data analysis and excellent in MS Excel
- Experience in supply and inventory management
- Experience in import and export management
- Understanding of the supply chain, including common obstacles and effective solutions
- Confident user of SAP Business One or any similar business systems
- Attention to details and numbers
Salary and Benefits
Competitive base salary of $70,000 to $75,000 per annum, with additional superannuation
