Production Manager

- $70- $85k + Annual Bonus

We are recruiting for a Production Manager for our client based in Mount Waverley who are a well-known furniture manufacturer. In this role you will oversee the manufacturer process from start to finish ensuring adherence to safety standards and supervising team members.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate operations across all manufacturing processes.
- Organize and supervise daily manufacturing processes throughout the factory.
- Ensure comprehensive training for new and existing team members.
- Implement and maintain effective quality control processes.
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes focused on waste reduction.
- Monitor and maintain efficiency metrics for individual work centers and overall plant efficiency.
- Conduct, verify, and implement time studies.
- Coordinate and optimize manpower utilization within existing departments and processes.
- Schedule personnel to stabilize work centers and maximize operational efficiency.
- Review and maintain adequate manpower levels on a monthly basis to meet production needs.
- Develop, implement, and manage standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct weekly meetings with work center leads to address performance, personnel issues, goals, and challenges.
- Monitor individual employee performance and efficiency, addressing and communicating any non-performing issues to the management team.
- Listen to and address employee concerns, effectively communicating any issues with HR and management.
- Ensure compliance with safety and health procedures throughout the plant.
- Conduct weekly facility walkthroughs to identify and resolve potential hazards.
- Implement and monitor company policies.
- Coordinate with purchasing department to ensure timely acquisition of materials for production schedules.
- Coordinate housekeeping activities in production and common areas
- Preferred, minimum of 2 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Excellent organizational and supervisory skills.
- Proficient in implementing and maintaining quality control measures.
- Knowledge of waste reduction techniques and process optimization.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
