YOUR OPPORTUNITY

Your role is integral to translating our company’s strategic vision into actionable production plans. By ensuring that production processes are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with quality and safety standards, you will help the company achieve our goals of operational excellence, customer satisfaction, profitability, and sustainability.

Your role will include:

Planning and Scheduling

• Production Planning: Develop detailed production plans to meet the company's production goals.
• Scheduling: Create production schedules that ensure timely completion of projects while maximising resource utilisation.

Resource Management

• Material Management: Ensure the timely availability of raw materials and components.
• Human Resources: Oversee the workforce, manage shift schedules, and ensure appropriate staffing levels.

Process Management

• Workflow Optimisation: Streamline production processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Technology Implementation: Integrate new technologies and methodologies to improve production capabilities.

Quality Control

• Standards Compliance: Ensure that all products meet the required quality standards and specifications.
• Inspection and Testing: Implement regular inspection and testing procedures to maintain quality control.

Cost Management

• Budgeting: Develop and manage the production budget.
• Post Works Job Costing: Perform job costing by analysing completed work, comparing it against the budget, and reporting the results.
• Cost Reduction: Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.

Health and Safety

• Regulation Compliance: Ensure that all production activities comply with health and safety regulations.
• Safety Programs: Develop and enforce safety programs and protocols to protect workers.

Coordination and Communication

• Interdepartmental Coordination: Collaborate with other departments such as procurement, engineering, and logistics to ensure smooth operations.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicate with stakeholders, including suppliers, clients, and senior management.

Performance Monitoring

• KPI Tracking: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of production operations.
• Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing processes and implementing improvements.

Problem Solving

• Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any production-related issues promptly to minimise downtime.
• Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis of recurring problems to implement long-term solutions.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

You’re a genuine and meticulous professional with solid experience in engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and heavy engineering machinery. Your commitment to exceptional results is underscored by your strong operational knowledge and comprehensive understanding of manufacturing operations.

To be successful, you will need:

• Possess a strong understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and production machinery used in heavy engineering, including experience in engineering estimating, procurement, and manufacturing heavy earthmoving equipment.
• A degree in engineering, manufacturing, industrial management, or a related field is required. Relevant certifications in production management or lean manufacturing are advantageous.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to positively manage and motivate a diverse workforce.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to analyse production data and metrics to drive decision-making.
• Excellent problem-solving skills to address and resolve production issues.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with different departments and stakeholders.
• Ability to read and write clear and concise reports and documentation.
• Excellent mathematical skills: you are very proficient with numbers.
• Proficient in software and systems: Outlook Suite, Excel, and basic AutoCAD (Onshape) skills.
• Forklift Licence.
• Proficient in managing multiple complex projects and optimising limited resources to maintain high-quality standards under tight schedules.
• Excellent technological ability to understand and adapt to rapid technological advances.
