About the Role:
Our technology-driven firm’s engineering department currently has an immediate opening for a Production Manager. The Production & Project Manager leads the planning, scheduling, and execution of all manufacturing operations within the workshop, in collaboration with the scheduler/estimator and workshop manager. The Production & Project Manager contributes to the success of WMS by ensuring all major projects are produced & manufactured on time, within budget, with the highest quality and uncompromising safety.
Areas of responsibility:
The responsibilities and duties of the successful candidate will be as follows but not limited to:
- Manage production schedule for on-time completion.
- Take an active role in workshop production planning.
- Identify and address key concerns that may alter or impact production scheduling.
- Work with Estimator/Scheduler to create and manage WIP report for tracking development.
- Provide status reports to upper management.
- Partner with design team for product development approval
- Partner with internal teams to engineer products within cost parameters.
- Track development milestones to meet established deadlines.
- Maintain a positive attitude and establish a good working relationship with all WMS staff.
- Liaise with management and staff to ensure tasks are completed within cost, on time and to a high standard.
- In conjunction with the GM, ensure all WMS process and procedures are adopted and adhered to, for compliance and transparency in how WMS are perceived by our customer base nationally.
- Actively seek opportunities to improve efficiency and operations whilst maintaining high quality standards.
Your Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Diploma or Certificate IV in Business Administration or relevant experience
- Cert III in Mechanical Engineering Trade (mandatory)
- Cert IV in Fluid Power & Hydraulics (advantage)
- High level of interpersonal skills
- Current driver’s license
