About the Role
The Production Manager is responsible for the management of sampling and production timelines and implementation of production plans and scheduling to ensure on time delivery into store ahead of product launches. Responsibility for tracking and maintaining manufacturing costs and margins and adhering to budgets is an important aspect of this role.
The Production Manager will maintain and foster close relationships with both local and global supplier’s both new and existing; strive to implement continual improvements and more efficient processes in the supply chain that align with the Maggie Marilyn vision.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Critical path management, ensuring sampling and production are in complete alignment and timelines set by management are achieved.
- Drive clear lines of communication between the Product Team to the wider team.
- Present production purchasing plan to management inline with production targets, with sound reasoning.
- Manage material and trim procurement.
- Distribute PO’s, technical and specification data to the factories and ensure queries and omissions are kept to a minimum.
- Ensure production costs are obtained and negotiated at a competitive and fair rate to maintain manufacturing margin targets.
- Maintain strong vendor relations with regular visits to global suppliers.
- Ensure QA levels are maintained.
- Ensure the brands commitments to B Corp certification are upheld by following sourcing and processing guidelines identified; tracking and reporting on progress while identifying areas of improvement.
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics with freight partners, ensuring effective set up across the business and competitive pricing is received.
Qualifications
- Relevant 3+ years experience in the Fashion industry in a similar role
- Bachelor degree or similar qualification in Fashion or relevant experience
- Strong organisational and managerial skills
- Must demonstrate ability to work as part of a team, with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
