Role & Responsibilities
An exciting opportunity has become available to join the team at Delta Coal for a Production Manager. Reporting to the Mine Manager and as a member of the Senior Management Team, the purpose of this role is to:
- Promote the Delta Coal vision and values and be accountable for the safety and health of all personnel on the mine site.
- Provide leadership and direction to the production group to ensure alignment with and achievement of the business plan and Delta's strategic plan.
- Manage production operations so as to achieve Delta Coal's strategic objectives.
- Develop, negotiate, and oversee operating and staff activities to deliver weekly and daily planned targets.
- Manage the ongoing review of the operations group structure, and resourcing to improve productivity, ensure long term viability and identify / address areas for improvement against plans and industry best practices.
- Ensure operations are being conducted in accordance with safety / environmental standards and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications & Experience
To be the successful candidate you are required to meet the following criteria:
- 10 years' operational experience in underground coal mining, bord and pillar / herringbone experience (Desirable) and / or minimum of 5 years' experience in a supervisory capacity at an Underground Coal Mine.
- NSW Certificate of Competency / Practicing Certificate as an Undermanager (Desirable) and / or tertiary Engineering qualification in Mining, Electrical or Mechanical (Desirable).
- Extensive experience in the management and delivery of production strategies in accordance with statutory requirements in the areas of plant, safety, and environment.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct in depth analysis of complex problems and apply strategic thinking to develop solutions.
- Demonstrated contract management knowledge and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in leading multiple teams to deliver business outcomes.
