We are one of the world leading Producer of premium quality Mushroom Compost. You will be joining a wholly owned Australian company established in 1981 that has grown to be the largest agricultural enterprise in the Hawkesbury, as well as being the largest composting facility in the Southern Hemisphere.
The Business is in a period of change with a strong growth demand, and in readiness for this change we have position/s available for Production and Machine Operators to join our Production Team at our Mulgrave NSW site.
On offer are both - Full-time positions and Permanent Part Time positions (set permanent days).
Onsite training program provided. Primarily a Monday - Friday roster for new starters with a roster that includes some weekend work is available upon completion of trainings and probationary period.
The Role
- Day-to-day operation of process equipment and machinery.
- Cleaning of production equipment, such as conveyor belts, tunnel machines, pulling winches, forklifts, blocking equipment and growing tunnels.
- Use of tools with hands on task required during production operations. The role is 50% hands on, generally a paced environment, medium to good fitness level would certainly be an advantage.
- Competency task focus in alignment with working roster, which mean you will be trained to perform in all production processes and cycled in all areas to maintain competencies and team flexibility. This role has variation so it’s never boring or mundane.
- Adhere to Site Safety and Operational rules, including frequent use of additional PPE (respirators, dust mask, eye protection, bump hats, wet wash gear)
- The role is in an agricultural setting however majority of working areas are indoor an in a conditioned environment.
- Conducting of basic testing and quality checks to support QA.
- Good Housekeeping initiatives – What we produce ends up being in a food producing process.
- Handling and storing of goods, including cold storage and raw materials, which may involve operating lifting equipment and forklift trucks. (Forklift License preferred)
- Hours are staggered but reasonably consistent with different rosters in play with different Production cycles.
- Potential to progress - We have Team Leaders roles on the horizon.
What we are looking for in a Candidate…
- A positive and contributing work ethic.
- Punctual and reliable – Production is continuous and being on time is critical.
- Preferably Production / Manufacturing experience in an agricultural setting or farm setting.
- A good mechanical aptitude would be an advantage (no formal qualification required)
- Good Communication – the ability to clearly communicate Production or Machinery issues, constructive feedback, or improvements.
- Ability to take direction to task as well as working autonomously, and you like the mixture of machine operation and hands-on work.
- Initiative and willingness to learn and continually improve both as an individual and within the job.
- Enjoy working in a Team environment with a collaborative mind-set.
- Car licence and Forklift licence would be an advantage.
