Your new role
Your new role will see you reporting to the Operations Manager, working 6 - 2.30pm or (7am - 3.30pm either set shift is suitable) Monday to Friday. As a Production Planner your new role will see you coordinating orders from order intake to delivery to the customer. Your new role will assist in developing sound order point processes for inventory control to meet supply chain requirements, and maintaining an accurate production schedule for weekly distribution.
Your typical daily tasks will see you;
- Coordinating production planning activities to support production operations;
- Co-ordinate supply of in-house design parts from engineering to fitment to end final product;
- Create Bill's of Materials from engineering drawings;
- Work Order processes including job packs, maintaining communication to production on part availability, monitored on reporting on schedule compliance;
- Measure, monitor and report on supplier performance for in-house design manufacturing parts;
- Effective flow of manufactured parts to production whilst minimizing all types of inventory for local and overseas inventory;
- Manage stock holdings, replenishment systems and inventory counts for local and overseas inventory;
- Buying and expediting of stock for local supply, along with updating supplier price list
- Cycle counts, running purchase orders, stocktaking, planning & scheduling controls to minimize stock held in 'work in progress,' mode;
- Using Epicor, MRP and inventory control systems;
- Reporting, coordinating collation of data, and information for production schedules, & attending production start of work meetings, to understand and address production hold ups; and
- Responding to sales requests, coordinating with procurement.
What you need to succeed
- Proven experience working in a prior Planning / Buying role within a high production manufacturing environment;
- Some exposure to lean methodology & mindful of cost efficiency;
- Experience working with Epicor, MRP, Excel and Inventory control systems; and
- Be highly organised, have strong attention to detail skills and a relationship - driven person maintaining good relationships with suppliers.
