Roads 2000 is a well-established Asphalt company in Western Australia, operating as part of the Politis Group specialising in asphalt production, placement and project management. Roads 2000 operates from a centrally located office in Osborne Park with modern asphalt production batch plants in Wangara and Neerabup and a Mobile Plant. We provide a professional service to government, commercial and residential clients.
Roads 2000 are currently seeking an experienced Asphalt Plant Operator at a leading hand or Supervisor level. The position will be based at our Asphalt plant in Wangara, moving with the Mobile Plant on regional works through Western Australia, reporting to the Production Manager. This role will require regular travel to regional areas within Western Australia with a FIFO type roster considered for the right candidate. Previous experience operating and Asphalt batching plant necessary.
Job tasks and responsibilities
The Asphalt Plant Operator has the responsibility for batching and plant operation. The role is also required to provide administration for the plant's operational records. Duties include:
- Plant maintenance: Administration of the batching process including storage, loading, docketing and record keeping
- Calibrate and Operate Asphalt Plant
- Monitor and maintain fuel records
- Ensure that all administrative tasks are dealt with in a timely manner
- Support the Production team in providing efficient and effective asphalt production
- Develop relationships with key customers and promote a customer focused culture within the Production group
- Effective communication and ability to work under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to lead, instruct and manage a team
Skills and experience
This role requires an experienced Plant Operator in Asphalt production. Other Requirements are;
- Asphalt Plant experience with computer-controlled production and batching
- HR driver's License (valid in WA)
- Must hold a current Blue/White Card (valid in WA)
- Work Safely at Heights ticket
- Confined Space Ticket
- Current Forklift ticket
- Front-end Loader experience
- Focused on customer satisfaction, and compliance with safety requirements
- Capable of working towards and exceeding monthly tonnage targets
- Reliable transport, as public transport is limited
- Able to pass Drug and Alcohol and Pre-Employment Medical assessments
- Willing to complete a National Police Clearance
