About The Role
As Australia’s fifth-largest iron ore producer, MinRes operates three key mining hubs in Western Australia. This portfolio includes the transformative Onslow Iron project, one of the largest iron ore developments in Australia, and is forecast to ship around 35 million tonnes of ore per year.
Reporting to the Port Operations Superintendent, you will oversee site teams in the day-to-day execution of the production plan to ensure operational targets are achieved. Initially commencing on an 8:6 roster, the roster will change to an 8:6 (days) and 7:7 (nights) schedule as the project transitions into operations in June 2024.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining efficient and cost-effective production procedures to achieve optimal plant output, availability, reliability, and utilisation.
- Making sure clear accountabilities and expectations are set with all team members and holding them accountable for their roles.
- Ensuring compliance with all statutory, legislative, and workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements.
- Making certain that all required checks, inspections, and other relevant risk assessments are completed.
- Leading pre-start and return-to-work meetings to ensure team engagement.
- Developing and empowering your team, including managing performance reviews and creating training development plans.
What You Will Bring to The Team
Our ideal candidate will have an operational production background within port facilities and / or mineral processing plants, including team leadership experience as a supervisor.
Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:
- Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor certificate (or Section 44),
- Senior First Aid accreditation,
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence,
- Whilst not essential, an understanding of supply chain processes and previous exposure to bridge reclaimers would be beneficial.
