Production Group Leader
Interpod is an industry leading company on the NSW Central Coast supplying modular building elements to the commercial construction industry nationally. Interpod is a fully Australian owned and operated company with all design, engineering, and manufacturing performed locally. Currently we are seeking a motivated and passionate Production Supervisor to join our team to assist with forecasted growth throughout 2024.
Key Responsibilities
As Production Supervisor, you will be reporting to the Production Manager, and directly responsible for the day-to-day management of your production area. Your primary focus will include:
- Effectively managing a team of up to 5 Team Leaders and 20 Team Members, including rostering, training, coaching, and performance.
- Driving a high engagement team culture of safety, quality, performance, and improvement.
- Manage the continuous implementation of lean best practices to make the workplace more visual, and reduce rework, waste, and inventory.
- Participating in the production engineering and managing the introduction of new products and processes in your area.
- Planning and coordinating production activities to ensure sequence and throughput requirements are met without overproduction or excessive WIP.
- Managing Team Leader and Team Member activities including standard work adherence, 5S, and daily routines.
- Coordinating support from other areas, including upstream and downstream processes, engineering, supply chain, and projects.
About You
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Proven understanding of lean manufacturing principles, including real world experience in their application.
- Strong leadership ability, with a background in coaching and developing Team Leaders and Team Members to achieve results.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at various levels, in both group and 1-on-1 situations.
- Experience in driving and monitoring key performance measures, focusing on Lost Time Injuries, throughput, labor cost, and waste reduction.
- A practical understanding of how things go together in a hands-on environment.
- A willingness to constantly change, adapt, and develop to deliver results in a fast paced, high growth environment.
