THE COMPANY
Our client is a leading manufacturer of high quality electro-mechanical equipment including fully integrated systems for armoured vehicles, soldiers and ground stations specifically for the Department of Defence, and Government and Security markets using the latest technology.
THE ROLE
- Liaising with Project Delivery Manager to discuss and resolve issues related to the production data pack, tooling or assembly technique
- Provide Line Management functions to production resources by assigning tasks, providing professional development, undertaking performance reviews, approving leave and other related tasks
- Training and upskilling technicians on new production process, skills or techniques
- Conducting quality checks to ensure adherence to the approved production processes for the product being manufactured
- Ensure that all production documents are accurately tracked, and present to enable assembly of the products in production
- Reporting production status on a daily and weekly basis including but not limited to the number of products or processes completed, the availability of consumables, the use of production tools and the types of issues encountered
- Manufacturing specialised aerospace grade cable assemblies in accordance with approved processes and procedures
- Manufacturing specialised military grade electro-optical/mechanical assemblies in accordance with approved procedures and processes.
- Liaising with Program Manager to identify and implement improvements in production processes
- Support the Program Manager recruit Production staff by attending interviews and supervising assessments
- Support the manufacture of First-of-Type products by liaising with Engineering and Quality
- Ensure all material required to complete assigned tasks is available to the production technicians
- Ensure all production areas are clean following 5S principles for efficiency and safety
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Trade certification in either electrical, mechanical or electronic trade
- At least 2 years professional/proven experience in a cable manufacturing and/or assembly facility, manufacturing to military grade standards
- Experience in the manufacture of specialised, military grade device assemblies using: General hand tools, custom jigs to support assembly, and testing and programming functions
- Experience in the manufacture of specialised, aerospace grade cable assemblies using: High quality fine pitch soldering, de-soldering, crimping, cutting, stripping and cable preparation processes, and testing and programming functions
- IPC 610 or 620 certification (desirable)
- Demonstrated skills in warehouse and materials management
- Demonstrated skills and planning and scheduling
- Ability to apply for a Security Clearance
- Australian Citizenship
