About the Company:
Our client is a national leader in sustainable steel manufacturing. Currently, they are seeking a professional Production Supervisor to join their team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the production team (approximately 20 staff) and ensure that production KPI’s are met along with safe and efficient running of the production facility.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Production Supervisor, you will report directly to the Site Operations Manager. Your primary focus will include:
- Efficiently managing a production team of approximately 20 members, fostering continuous development to build a cohesive and robust team aligned with site growth.
- Leading 5S initiatives and championing lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Cultivating a safety-first culture, encouraging staff to identify and implement OH&S improvements throughout the operation.
- Collaborating seamlessly with the Maintenance team to formulate and execute strategies for shared goals in plant performance.
- Implementing and monitoring strategies to reduce staff turnover, ensuring a productive, efficient, and cost-competitive labor cost base.
- Contributing to plant improvement initiatives through active leadership and the implementation of LEAN and Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies.
- Enhancing engagement and culture through effective leadership, training, and mentorship within the production team.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Proven experience in LEAN manufacturing and successful change management, with the ability to provide concrete examples during the interview.
- Robust experience in 5S practice.
- A strong leadership background, demonstrating the ability to coach and develop Team Leaders and Operators to deliver results.
- Experience in driving and monitoring key performance measures, focusing on Lost Time Injuries, labor cost, and waste reduction.
- Proficiency in implementing and monitoring the performance of the quality, safety, and production team, including setting and measuring team objectives and KPIs.
- Strong communication, coaching, mentoring, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at various levels.
