Our client is a well-established manufacturer of paint products and mediums sold in retailers across Australia and to commercial customers internationally.
We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead the batching operations of the paint production department and ensuring that products are manufactured, stored, and distributed to the highest quality standards.
The purpose of this role is to manage, coordinate and monitor batching operations as well as participate in new product development projects.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare samples for batching, mixing and testing
- Operating, calibrating and general maintenance of mixers, testing and weighing equipment
- Establish QA & QC procedures and finetune batch-tracking records
- Oversee identifying non-conformances and initiate corrective action immediately
- Co-ordinate with Production Planner to manage batch production schedules
- Preparing weekly reports around key production metrics
- Lead the creation/ modification of BOM content and pricing
- Manage vendor relationships, raw material procurement, inventory levels and price controls
- Continuous chemical analysis of paints and related products to support (a) new product development and (b) cost-saving opportunities
- Manage the storage and register of dangerous materials
- Provide technical information to support (a) completion of safety data sheets and (b) occasional customer technical enquiries
- Initiate Product Change Notices (PCN) to inform partners in supply chain of product spec changes
- Lead compliance with OHS workplace regulations and general facilities in batch production area
Key Requirements:
- Tertiary degree, diploma or certificate in Science, Chemistry or similar
- Production background in paint, coatings, chemicals or similar
- Demonstrated experience leading teams
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient computer skills with knowledge of SAP an advantage
- Driver licence
- Able to lift up to 20kg
- Full working rights in Australia
- Forklift licence is desirable, not essential
Hourly Rate: $90,000 + $100,000 p/a (dependant on experience)
Position Location: Horsby NSW surrounds
Days of Work: 8:00am - 4:00pmMonday to Friday (Some flexibility available)
