We have an opportunity for a motivated Production Technician to be part of the manufacturing team at ZiP Diagnostics. You will be involved in the production of new point-of-care tests for COVID-19 and other diseases. These tests will be used for Australian and international clinical studies. These trials will be followed by global commericalisation to reduce the impact of current and emerging diseases. You will join our group of skilled scientists and engineers. You will be based at our new manufacturing facility in the inner-Melbourne suburb of Collingwood.
Effective Date: Immediate appointment
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of buffers and stock reagent preparation
- Freeze-Drying (Lyophilisation) of products
- Operate equipment such as centrifuges, pumps, freeze dryers
- Accurate completion of batch records, quality control documents and cleaning logs
- Product Quality Control testing
- Adherence to cleanroom maintenance procedures including cleaning of designated areas, waste disposal and other policies
- Aid in creating and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for production processes
- Completing all tasks in accordance with SOPs, Occupational Health and Safety and Quality Management System requirements
Essential Selection Criteria:
- Diploma of Laboratory Technology or Bachelor of Science
- Attention to detail, self-motivated and able to work to deadlines and schedules
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Competency in basic laboratory methods and procedures
- Aseptic laboratory techniques
- Knowledge of basic statistical techniques
- Knowledge of laboratory safety
- Computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, data analysis
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Desirable Selection Criteria:
- Experience with Freeze Drying (Lyophilisation)
- Experience in cleanroom manufacturing
- Experience working in industry
- Experience working with ISO or NATA Quality Management Systems
