We have an exciting Permanent Full Time opportunity for you to join the Boortmalt Australia team as a Production Technician.
Reporting to Production Manager, you will be based at our Minto plant and be an integral member of the production team, responsible for various aspects of malt production, raw material assessment, equipment hygiene and laboratory analysis. This role requires participation in physical tasks, with a focus on plant hygiene, diligent paperwork skills and commitment to EH&S, HACCP, Quality Systems, Environmental Issues and Customer Awareness. The rotation requires weekend and public holiday work 12 hour shifts on a 2 days on,2 days off,3 days on and 3 days off shift pattern (day and night shifts).
You will be a self-starter, agile, robust and a resilient team player to be able to problem solve and thrive in a fast-paced working environment. Your ability to grasp a broad range of activities, adhere to processes and procedures, take initiatives and contribute towards building a strong safety culture will be key to the success of the role and will open opportunities to further advance your career.
Qualifications and skills required:
- Diploma/Certificate in Food Processing or tertiary qualifications in a science or related discipline
- Practical and systematic problem-solving skills;
- Excellent interpersonal, English communication skills;
- Practical computer skills
- Ability to work autonomously, be self-motivated and proactive;
- Ability to partake in physically challenging hygiene activities within an industrial environment;
- Ability to be flexible under changing environment and workloads
- Ability to contribute in a team environment through developing positive working relationships that are based on trust and integrity.
- Previous experience in manufacturing environment (desirable)
What we are looking for:
- Minimum 1 year experience working in a similar position within the Food/Beverage manufacturing industry;
- Relevant technical, diary or science qualifications is desirable but not essential;
- Previous experience in operating manufacturing equipment; and
- Demonstrated experience working with Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement principles.
