VitalTrace Pty Ltd is a multi-award winning, VC-funded Australian-based Med-tech start-up company aiming to improve outcomes for mothers and children during the childbirth process. We are doing this by developing novel, cutting-edge, biosensor technologies for fetal monitoring during childbirth. VitalTrace is seeking skilled production laboratory technicians preferably with chemical and/or quality backgrounds to join our sensor production team!
Responsibilities
• Perform device component production and device assembly rigorously following established Work Instructions (WI) and standard operating procedure (SOP) documents.
• Assisting with the preparation of chemical solutions.
• Perform in-process Quality Control testing and electrochemical data analysis.
• Working alongside other engineers, electrochemists, and scientists to develop improved production processes and methods.
• Involvement in updating and creating new standards of operations (WIs & SOPs) for ISO certification.
• Obtain principle knowledge of medical device manufacturing standards and regulations (ISO 13485 and 9001 in particular).
• Record 'no red flag' after ISO and Treatments/Methods laboratory audits.
• Selecting and setting up the required lab equipment for tests, experiments, and analyses.
• Conducting lab tests for qualitative and quantitative analyses.
• Maintaining experimentation records to ISO 13485 standards.
• Keeping the laboratory neat and clean and disinfecting work surfaces and equipment.
• Regularly inspecting materials and equipment and requesting as required.
• Training and monitoring other workers involved in the production area.
• Interpreting test results and compiling technical reports.
• Managing inventory and engaging suppliers to ensure consistent availability of stock of components for production.
• Produce cables, including cutting, stripping, soldering, braiding, and crimping to different types of connectors, following work instructions.
Requirements
• Experience in a laboratory as a technician or chemist. Fresh graduates from Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, (Bio)Chemical/Biomedical Sciences/Engineering and related fields are welcome to apply.
• Experience in chemistry, biological or analytical testing lab with performing wet-lab chemical processes is favourable.
• Experience in production lines in the following areas; physical part inspections, microfabrication and assembly is favourable.
• Excellent knowledge of lab safety (GLP) is favourable.
• Experience with Quality Assurance compliance and procedures (previous exposure to ISO 13485 and/or ISO 9001 preferred). Not necessary but favourable.
• Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to follow instructions and focus for extended periods.
• The ability to problem solve and identify process method improvements that contribute to quality, efficiency, and safety.
• Ability to work autonomously where required and in parallel and collaboratively with team members.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute and collaborate across teams.
• Experience with supply chain and inventory management.
• Eligible working visa in Australia.
