Job description

  • Provide assurance and oversight of the Council’s $40-50M annual program of projects;
  • Lead Project Management Office processes, including facilitating program review meetings across the organisation;
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing improvement of the council’s Program Management Framework to ensure process changes are adopted and embedded throughout the business;
  • Partner with Project Managers and the Leadership team to assist with successful delivery of projects (both capital and process improvement initiatives) for the benefit of the community;
  • Provide regular reporting to senior management on program progress, risks and issues;
  • Collaborate across the business on reviewing current practices for opportunities for continuous improvement;

About the job

This is a new position and will be key in implementing and improving PMO processes across the organisation. The role will interact with a broad range of people including the Leadership team and will work across all functions/departments.  The role will be a key motivator – supporting the effective execution of the Council’s vast and diverse portfolio of projects and initiatives.

We want a self-motivated, passionate, and highly professional person who enjoys interacting with people and loves seeing others’ success. To be successful in this role you will need to be able to work in a flexible environment and possess excellent communication and organisational skills. You will need to have experience within a PMO environment with an understanding of process, best practice and benefits.

About the Team

As a member of the Chief Executive Office, you will report to the Manager Innovation and Performance. It’s a small but mighty team that is very much a part of the bigger picture. Consisting of the Program Management Office and data and analysis functions of the Council, the team is responsible for working with the leadership team to develop organisational strategy, assuring delivery of the Council’s annual $40-50M program of projects and supporting the organisation to identify ways to be even better. You will inform the organisation of performance against the organisation’s strategic objectives and commitments and support the analysis and implementation of business improvement opportunities.

This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, and is classified at Level 7, with a salary from $114,967 per annum + Super.
