About usThe National Blood Authority (NBA) is an Australian Government statutory agency whose role is to work in a collaborative manner with all Australian governments and blood sector stakeholders to ensure Australia's blood supply is safe, secure, adequate, and affordable.Job ContextWe are looking for a proactive and motivated person to join the Fresh Blood Products and Services team. The team (on behalf of all Australian Governments) manages the contract with the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood (Lifeblood) to collect, process and supply fresh blood products and services across Australia, ensuring an essential clinical service that saves and improves lives every day.In this role you will support the team’s work in monitoring and reporting on the performance of Lifeblood’s services. You will collect data and information on the performance of national fresh blood product and services and use this to advise on compliance and adherence to contract performance requirements. You will contribute to reports on program activities and project milestones, liaise with internal and external stakeholders, and represent the area in the management of fresh blood products and services. You will also support the team through general administration, records management, secretariat duties and preparing documents, including Ministerial correspondence. The successful candidate will apply work knowledge, precedent and established procedures and guidelines to situations that are complex and sensitive. You will determine and report on compliance with contract performance specifications and/or standards. You will also collate data, undertake data quality assurance, analyse results, and present data in formats suitable for different audiences.You will have strong oral and written communication skills, be able to confidently respond to stakeholder needs and expectations, and develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships. You will be able to work well with your colleagues and contribute to a positive team culture.
The key duties of the position include:Primary Job Duties Although not exhaustive, this role may require you to:
Assist with managing a program of work that supports the delivery of Australia’s supply of blood and blood-related products.
Assist in assessing supplier performance in delivering national blood and blood product supply in accordance with enforceable contracts and agreements.
Undertake regular reporting on a range of financial, supply and other performance indicators, to a range of recipients.
Assist in the development of annual supply plans and forecasts for blood products.
Gather and investigate information from diverse sources.
Review information, and prepare papers, briefs, minutes, presentations and correspondence.
Perform Secretariat duties to support meetings with external stakeholders.
Propose innovations to processes within a culture of continuous improvement.
Work in a collaborative manner to achieve team goals.
Contribute to NBA organisational strategy and culture.
EligibilityWorking in the NBA All NBA officers are expected to participate in high level, organisation-wide responsibilities and administrative support activities actively and willingly. Officers are required to operate flexibly and exercise higher order leadership skills as well as directly undertake lower order independent work when necessary to get the job done. This reflects the nature of the NBA as a relatively small, specialist Agency and our limited capacity to backfill vacant positions for short periods within the limits of available finance and human resources. The successful applicant must be an Australian Citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining a security clearance at this level.
