A little about the role
As the Program Manager of the Victorian Foster Care program, you will:
- Take responsibility for the state-wide operations of the Foster Care program and achieve required outcomes and performance measures.
- Receive, clarify, accept and allocate referrals into the Foster Care program and monitor service delivery and attainment of outcomes across the program.
- Ensure the Foster Care Program is delivered on budget and that placement referrals are received, actioned and matches made when possible in line with funded Foster Care targets.
- Ensure that staff have access to the training and support needed to undertake their roles. This includes the integrated practice of the Key to Care Practice Framework and other trauma informed models.
- Collaborate with Department programs such as Child Protection, Placement Coordination and Agency Performance and System Support (APSS) to ensure that a high standard of service is provided to our customers.
- Further develop the skills of staff in managing and supporting children and families with complex and challenging behaviours and in managing their own safety.
The base salary for this position is $109,453.50 - $114,016.50 per annum + super + vehicle & fuel card + salary packaging options up to $15,900 per annum.
This position is a full-time, ongoing opportunity.
About you
To be successful in this role, you’ll come with:
- Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or other relevant recognised Qualification
- Demonstrated leadership and/ or supervisory experience
- Minimum of five years’ experience as a qualified practitioner in a children and family setting of which two years must have been gained working directly with foster carers and the children placed with them or with a family focused counselling or support service.
- Experience in child, youth and family services and/or child protection services, including undertaking comprehensive assessments to develop, implement, monitor and review client plans.
- Tenacity, diligence and resilience - with the ability to adopt a creative approach to problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
