Our unit

Infrastructure and Facilities Services (IFS) is responsible for the planning, development and operation of the University’s physical infrastructure and estate, including the management and upkeep of facilities to support the strategic objectives of the University and meet the needs of students, staff and the University community.

The Asset ImprovementProgram Manager is a senior member of the IFS Program Delivery team. Reporting to the Associate Director, Program Delivery and working closely with the IFS Campus Services and other IFS teams, the Asset Improvement program delivers the outputs of the Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP) on behalf of the University.

The Asset ImprovementProgram Manager leads and manages project teams in the planning, design and delivery of a complex program of multiple asset replacement and minor construction projects to provide quality, safe and financially sound outcomes that meet stakeholder expectations.

How will you inspire us

The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex programs of Asset Improvement works, including asset replacement and asset maintenance works. Working in a program management role and acting as the critical interface with the IFS Campus Services team, you will have the ability to effectively manage internal and external resources in the delivery of multi-year strategic programs of work.

You will have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive experience in relevant areas, such as project management, engineering, architecture, planning or construction management.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management capability including the ability to lead and inspire a team of professional staff to deliver exceptional outcomes.
  • Proven project management experience in a commercially focused and complex environment where multiple significant highly visible asset replacement and minor construction projects are delivered.
  • Demonstrated high level facilitation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with the ability to manage challenging relationships, gain consensus and influence outcomes to establish effective working partnerships.
  • Highly developed analytical, communication and problem-solving skills with the capacity to think creatively, act strategically and manage change while effectively managing stakeholder expectations, issues and risks.
  • Highly developed financial management skills including the ability to manage large and complex budgets and associated financial management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of design consultants and the design process to achieve enhanced project outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation and administration of construction contracts; specifically the NSW Government GC21 contract suite and systems for major and minor construction works.
