Job Description
Career defining opportunity for a self-motivated, driven and results focussed fundraiser to lead a newly structured fundraising team. The successful candidate will play a central role in the fundraising team going forward, growing the donor base in Tasmania and increasing philanthropic funds to the organisation.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Fundraising (WA and Tasmania), the Program Manager Fundraising (Tasmania) Guide Dogs and VisAbility will play a pivotal role in developing, delivering and reviewing the strategy for all fundraising programs and initiatives in Tasmania for Guide Dogs and VisAbility, ensuring alignment with the broader strategic objectives of the organisation.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities

  • In consultation with the Senior Manager Fundraising develop strategies for fundraising program and initiatives that support the strategic objectives of Guide Dogs and VisAbility Tasmania.
  • Line management of Senior Community Engagement Coordinator, Fundraising and Events Officer and the Donations Officer.
  • Set annual targets for all fundraising programs, and develop strategies to achieve these targets.
  • Lead and manage a team of fundraisers: providing guidance, support, and mentorship to maximise their effectiveness in donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, as well as engagement and fundraising efforts.
  • Monitor and track individual program budgets and targets for fundraising areas.
  • In collaboration with the Senior Manager Fundraising, develop and implement an annual fundraising/ operational plan for the department.
  • Work positively and proactively with internal stakeholders across the organisation to identify and develop comprehensive and compelling major donor, regular giving and bequest opportunities.
  • Proactively manage a portfolio of major donors (individuals, corporate and grant-giving organisations) and bequest pledgers to ensure consistent and meaningful interactions with the organisation.
  • Regularly review program achievements and KPI's for team members.
  • Review donor data to identify potential new major donors and bequest pledgers for cultivation and solicitation.
  • Regularly assess and enhance the donor experience to ensure donors feel valued and connected to the organisation, and various stakeholders within it.
  • Arrange engagement and stewardship events, face-to-face meetings and touch points to cultivate relationships with major donors and potential bequest pledgers.
  • Analyse fundraising data to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare regular reports and updates for the Senior Manager Fundraising, and other stakeholders.
Skills and attributes required
  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience in senior fundraising roles with a track record of achieving or exceeding fundraising targets.
  • Proven experience in major donor and bequest identification, qualification, cultivation and solicitation.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor fundraising teams.
  • Excellent time-management and planning skills.
  • Excellent donor stewardship and relationship-building skills.
  • Data-driven with experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Passion for the organisation's mission and the ability to effectively convey its impact to donors.
