To support this vision, we are excited to have a new research team join the Institute under the direction of Inaugural Fiona Stanley Chair in Child Health, which focuses on developing and applying mathematical and statistical models and other analytical approaches to address a broad range of questions around Infectious Diseases and interventions, with a large emphasis on contributing to the global fight against malaria.
We are now looking for a hands-on Program Manager to join this newly established team to manage the day-to-day operations of our growing, multidisciplinary research group as well as to contribute to strategic initiatives supporting the growth and impact of the team’s work.
This position will see you collaborate with global partners and stakeholders hence exceptional stakeholder management skills are key to this position.
Some of your responsibilities in this position will include:
- Support the overall shaping of the strategic direction of the research team, including integration of ongoing research and projects into organisational structures and public/external and internal communications.
- Manage the development of budgets, forecasting and financial management/reporting for the research program.
- Seek out and assist in applying for new funding opportunities.
- Manage all aspects of project development, including establishing project governance mechanisms such as ethics requirements, research governance and risk management.
This full-time opportunity will be based in our modern office in Nedlands, overlooking Kings Park, and will be offered for three years initially.
About You
This position would suit someone with strong project management and organisational skills and familiarity working within the research, global health, or academic sector. Along with that, the key to your success will be your demonstrated skills and experience in the following:
- Relevant experience in an administrative, project management, business capacity and/or clinical research role.
- Superior people skills with the ability to develop strong internal and external relationships.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to support content creation for communication internally and externally.
- Demonstrated capacity to provide expertise and liaise with large teams, across multiple simultaneous projects and locations.
- Proven capacity to manage budgets and grants in complex funding environments.
- Ability to simultaneously coordinate and deliver multiple projects/strategic opportunities, which may be complex and interconnected.
- Ideally relevant experience in one or several of the following topic areas (as project manager or experience working in the area): Global health, malaria, Infectious Diseases, therapeutics development, quantitative sciences, grant making/acquisition.
