As the Program Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the essential functions and operations of the DFAT-funded Field Epidemiology in Action (FEiA) program. FEiA is designed to assist Pacific national governments to establish and implement impactful field epidemiology training and rapid response team training programs.

Your responsibilities will include managing the international program, collaborating with partners in the Pacific, and providing support to epidemiologists and other team members. Additionally, there may be a need for national and international travel as part of this role.

In this role you will:

  • Lead and develop the team, supporting in the transition to a larger, more complex team environment, and developing systems and processes to assist this growth.
  • Deliver the program across multiple countries, ensuring the program is managed in accordance with grant agreements.
  • Seek opportunities for growth and expansion, including sourcing additional funding and building new partnerships with national and international stakeholders, including other Universities.

This fixed term position is full time (until June 2026) – location is flexible, however, Newcastle based is preferred.


How will you inspire us?

You will have:

  • Experience working for a not-for-profit and liaising with large, international donors.
  • Experience managing DFAT funding and developing grant applications.
  • Ability to demonstrate awareness and sensitivity when working cross-culturally, including experience working in lower income settings.

The remuneration for this position is from $112,112 to $130,798 + 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.
