GBRF is an independent Australian charity focused on solutions to the threats facing the Great Barrier Reef and innovations that will benefit the coral reefs globally as they tackle the same threats and challenges facing the world's largest coral reef.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Program Manager QIWRN works closely with the Director of the Traditional Owner Partnerships team and the Managing Director and Network Coordinator of the Queensland Indigenous Women’s Ranger Network to develop and deliver activities to support the Queensland Indigenous Women’s Ranger Network, with a focus on the scale up strategy supported by recent Earthshot funding.
This role will be varied and requires a highly organised generalist with skills spanning desktop research and analysis, relationship building and Traditional Owner engagement, program management, workshop planning, event management, grant writing and case-study development.
The Foundation uses a co-design approach to develop fit for purpose and culturally grounded projects and activities where Traditional Owner values, priorities, on-ground activities, as well as partnership establishment, take priority.
The successful person will need to demonstrate a flexible attitude as well as possess high order interpersonal skills and operate effectively within a small cross-cultural team environment.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE * Demonstrate a strong knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, cultures, beliefs, observances and practices

• Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage competing demands and to meet key deliverables.
• Ability to synthesise multiple lines of information and report effectively both verbally and in written form
• Demonstrate exceptional communication skills that include interpersonal attributes, organisational skills and written capabilities for effective engagement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in co-design and co-delivery processes.
• Experience in building and maintaining relationships and collaborative partnerships
• Experience in grant writing and event management
• Qualifications in Project Management or equivalent experience
• Qualifications or experience in environmental management, social science or human centred design is desirable but not essential.
• A high level of cultural competency and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Peoples is highly desirable
