Financial & Statutory Accountants for System Implementation Project (5-6 months)
As passionate and experienced travellers, we have made it our business at Helloworld Travel to be able to craft the perfect holiday experience for our clients, and we are looking for Project Accountants with strong reconciliations, statutory, or system implementation experience to support the Finance Department with the transition to a new Finance System – Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (“D365” or “F&O”) on a contract basis (up to 6 months).
As the Project Accountant, you will help the Finance Systems team with the deployment of D365, assist transactional finance operations, divisional business units, shared services, and the group finance teams and ensure the completion of all activities as allocated by the Project Manager.
System/Project Accountant – key responsibilities include:
- Supporting system configurations and setups for various modules/entities
- Assisting with migration of general ledger data and sub-modules registers, such as AR, AP, Cash, GL, FA, etc. into the new system D365
- Reviewing, uploading, and maintaining master data (vendors, customers, FA, cash)
- Preparing reconciliations of GL accounts/sub-modules ledgers and other transactions between old and new system
- Testing and preparing bank and other Balance Sheet Accounts reconciliations as needed
- Ensuring accurate Fixed Asset registers migrated into the new system
- Identifying mismatches and resolving variances in a timely manner
- Assisting with development of Consolidated and Management Reports and testing the accuracy of records between two systems
- Performing other ad-hoc tasks as requested by the Project Manager
Financial Accountant – key responsibilities include:
- Supporting and backfilling existing finance teams
- Preparing bank and credit card reconciliations
- Processing prepayment journals, accruals, and other relevant month-end journals
- Maintaining Fixed Asset Registers
- Resolving the Monthly Intercompany variances in a timely manner
- Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Performing other ad-hoc tasks as requested by the Line Manager.
Statutory/Group Accountant – key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring compliance with Statutory Reporting requirements for the Group in Australia and overseas.
- Assisting with Month-End closure and providing quality Group Management Reports
- Reconciling Intercompany Group Matrix balances and resolving variances as required
- Preparing and processing consolidation and elimination entries
- Assisting with the development of Consolidated Reports in the new tool
- Ensuring accurate data migration on a Group Level
- Supporting preparation of Special Purpose Financial Statements
- Preparing monthly balance sheet, investments, and equity reconciliations
- Supporting audit as needed or directed by the Group Finance Manager
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- An analytical mind with strong problem solving/decision making skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with ambiguity.
- Intermediate Excel skills, Technology Savvy.
- Relevant tertiary degree.
- CPA/CA qualification is preferred.
- 3+ years’ accounting experience or handling high volume transactional data
- Proficiency with finance/ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365, TM1 & Great Plains are preferable)
- A strong work ethic and initiative, be a good team player and communicator.
Other considerations:
Candidates immediately available or with a short notice period and no travel plans up to July 2024 would be preferred.
