The role:
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Project Co-ordinator is responsible for scoping, resourcing, planning executing and reviewing projects that cover both capital and maintenance activities. This includes the demolition of redundant buildings and mechanical equipment, corrosion migration, fit-for-purpose guarding and conveyor belts.
As the Project Co-ordinator you will ensure that:
- All works performed by contractors and consultants comply with company safety standards and procedures.
- Project scopes are developed and that all safety risks are highlighted.
- Regular safety audits are conducted and report any health, safety, environment and quality (HSEQ) breaches, incidents, near misses or hazards identified.
- Strict adherence to the management of change (MOC) process.
- Quality requirements associated with projects are clearly communicated to contractors and are managed at all project stages.
- Environmental issues involved with projects are understood and managed.
- Detailed Scope of Works (SoWs) are developed in collaboration with the Operations and Project teams.
- Execution work is scheduled with key stakeholders.
- Expenditure Approval requests are prepared accurately and submitted for approval in a timely manner.
- The execution and supervision of capital and special maintenance projects in a cost effective and timely manner.
- All risks associated with projects are well understood and managed to ensure a safe, effective and efficient project delivery.
- Regular communication is maintained with stakeholders.
- Project learnings are captured for continuous improvement purposes.
- The most efficient use of contract resources to achieve the desired outcome.
- Costs and budgets are managed.
Selection Criteria:
Holding either a trade certificate or an accreditation in quality inspection, you will have significant experience in mechanical installations, maintenance, fabrication or surface treatment in the chemical or minerals processing industry. Additionally, you will be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and standards and be familiar with standard software packages. Your excellent people management skills together with your strong verbal and written skills will see you secure this contract role.
