The opportunity:
We are looking to recruit a Project Controls Manager to support a major underground development project. The role will lead and manage the Project Controls function for the project, giving guidance for the analysis of cost and planning, maintaining and implementing and effective cost monitor measures to monitor the performance of cost estimates and providing strategic advice and forward-looking solutions focus. This is a site-based role with flexibility on roster, so candidates from different states are welcome to apply. Flights, accommodation and meals will all be provided during your travels.
What the role entails:
- Monitor and promote continuous improvement in processes and procedures that will improve project control functions to the project.
- Managing Project Controls team to ensure consistent, accurate management and reporting of services and capital cost, schedule and resourcing on projects.
- Assume overall responsibility for the Contracts Project Controls Management Plan, ensuring that it is audited and reviewed regularly in compliance with the audit schedule.
- Ensure that all employees are trained in the use of authorised planning, scheduling, estimating, and cost tracking systems, methods, and techniques.
- Developing essential project systems, leveraging existing management systems and ensuring that established procedures are followed.
- Leading the implementation of an integrated cost management strategy that includes all stakeholders and technical functions.
- Monitoring all cash flow, and accurate progress reports, variances from plan, main causes, and corrective measures are provided.
- Demonstration of an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development
What you will need:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Extensive Project Controls management experience within mining or heavy industry
- A track record of delivering large-scale mining projects ideally within underground environment
- Proven ability to successfully develop working relationships across all levels
- Detail orientation, strong planning, organisational, scheduling and coordination skills
