As a member of the Project and Overhauls leadership team, the Project Controls and Governance Manager sets the standards for project delivery and ensures compliance to those standards. This role supports project delivery through typical PMO functions including scheduling, cost control, risk, estimating and contract management. The role also manages the investment governance process and controls the agenda for the investment governance committee. This includes endorsing projects for inclusion into the agenda, preparation of program reporting and supporting any other requirements of the Committee.
This role leads a team to:
- Develop and apply project management standards and processes
- Establish and drive financial processes for project delivery
- Manages the contractor relationship and commercial arrangements
- Develops project schedules
- Supports all projects with project planning services
- Reviews and improves project delivery.
This role will have support from an audit function to provide an independent view of risk areas and improvement opportunities within project performance.
About you:
Your skills and experience will include:
- Degree qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Business Management, Engineering or other relevant discipline.
- Post graduate qualifications in project or program management.
- Significant experience establishing and/or leading a PMO ideally within a heavy industry environment.
- Deep knowledge of either contracts, cost control, scheduling, risk or project governance.
- Experience in change management and or coaching capability uplift in project managers.
- Ability to collate and present project data to key stakeholders including the Executive and Board of Directors.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal with the ability to fosterstrong working relationships with stakeholders.
- Solutions orientated with the ability to think critically and outside the box to achieve outcomes within a highly regulated environment.
