Project Coordinator [Through Life Support]
The Project Coordinator role is responsible for the management and execution of defect rectification and support requests outside of In Service Support Sustainment Contracts for Austal Defence vessels in service.
Key objectives & responsibilities:
- Provide and facilitate support and assistance under appropriate Defence Vessel Acquisition Contracts [Warranty] and other Defence Business [Service].
- To proactively manage, within business constraints, all project stakeholders.
- Establishment and maintenance of appropriate communication channels
- Resolution of all project queries within agreed timescales.
- To manage assigned projects within agreed schedules and budget, as well as to an agreed quality and safety standard for the specific support program:
- Delivering professional and timely execution of contractual and/or commercial objectives, as per applicable support program or contract
- Actualisation and delivery of program KPI’s
- Provide oversight in development of a safe and cost-effective repair and support strategies to realize issue resolution
- Ensuring correct repair standards and scopes are adhered to;
- Support Configuration Management Requirements and Baseline Changes
- Supervision and engagement of subcontractors
- Obtaining required level of OQE and uploading to Navy asset management software
- To proactively grow and capitalize on contractual or organic opportunities that arise within the remit of the applicable program:
- New Business Capture
- To proactively manage and capture performance data and information
- Provide technical and commercial information such as to allow accurate reporting and forecasting of project performance during the project lifecycle
- Provide operational data and feedback to Acquisition projects to ensure LFE
Required skills, experience & attributes:
- Hold Australian Citizenship and eligibility to obtain a baseline level security clearance
- A formal Qualification in Engineering and / or Project Management and / or Trade
- Hold a Construction safety induction (White card)
- Demonstrated experience in delivering Projects (balancing risk, quality, budget and schedule)
- Commercially astute
- Understanding of standards, codes and regulatory frameworks for the design, Construction and Maintenance of Commercial and Naval vessels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical and commercial
- Flexibility to travel on short notice and support urgent defect rectification
