About us

Events and Engagement team coordinates events that facilitate community engagement and promote Queensland Government priorities and key initiatives. The team also provides leadership and strategic advice on whole of government sponsorship strategy to drive economic and community benefits.

Your opportunity

As a Project Coordinator within the Events and Engagement team, you will use your excellent project management skills to coordinate and deliver programs that deliver outcomes for the Department. The role coordinates the development, facilitation and management of a range of programs including events, awards, sponsorships and community engagement programs as well as marketing and communication and database management. You will have excellent event/program and communication management skills, be organised, adaptable and a self-starter that also works collaboratively as a team player to solve problems quickly and effectively.

About you

You will have demonstrated experience working across multiple projects and delivering events, awards programs and sponsorships to a high standard. You will have a can-do attitude, agility to work across various priorities and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

You have a desire to work in a high performing, results driven and collaborative team.

Your key responsibilities

Deliver best practice events, awards, sponsorships and community engagement programs in accordance with current policies and procedures.

Coordinate Events and community engagement activities from conception to evaluation (research, plan, document, resource budget, deliver, promote, evaluate and report) including development of project plans, communication materials, sponsorship agreements, project timelines, briefing notes and correspondence.

Develop marketing plans and communication materials that support the delivery of events, awards, sponsorships and community engagement programs.

Develop partnerships and manage relationships with key program stakeholders including local, state and Australian government, businesses, community groups, committees and councils.

Manage customer relationship management systems and databases with a high degree of accuracy.

Lead administrative staff, contractors and suppliers engaged to facilitate the delivery of Events and awards.
