Premier Constructions Australia is a specialised Australian contractor, providing structural concrete FRP (Form-Reo-Pour), earthmoving and labour hire services. We partner with tier 1 and 2 clients to deliver complex infrastructure works across the civil infrastructure, defence, renewable energy, and high-rise residential and commercial development sectors.
We are experiencing fast growth, and looking for an experienced Project Engineer with a civil background to join our team to assist in delivering a variety of exciting projects. Based in the Adelaide office, the role will work closely with our Senior Management Team, Senior Site Supervisor, Site Supervisors and construction delivery team.
The Role
This role will deliver the construction engineering activities of various projects across South Australia. It will involve working both on and off sites, with new and existing clients across the business.
Operational
- Lead, interpret, plan, coordinate, and administer construction engineering activities in line with project plans, designs & specifications.
- Actively seeks knowledge and understanding of Management Plans (Construction, Quality, Safety, and Environmental) for assigned project site(s).
- In conjunction with the Construction Manager, monitor construction progress, manage the delivery team’s performance against project estimates, and ensure programme is delivered to agreed schedule.
- Execute working knowledge of contractual obligations, procurement processes, and legislation relevant to the project.
- Manage performance of construction delivery team, subcontractors & suppliers to achieve project outcomes.
- In conjunction with the Construction Manager, attend site meetings, and manage client or contractor relationships to discuss or resolve project issues.
- Track project costs, and identify potential cost-saving measures.
- Report and mitigate performance issues.
OHSE&Q Management
- On-site inspections for preparation of quotes, SWMS and job management.
- Undertake risk assessments to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Premier’s policies, processes, systems, reporting & procedures.
The successful candidate would ideally have:
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Structural/Civil Engineering or related field.
- 4 or more years' practical experience in the civil construction industry, or similar, with references for work in a similar role
- Ability to interpret plans, specifications and drawings.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects at a time, timeframes, be and cost-conscious.
- Excellent project management, communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, and scheduling tools
- Strong knowledge of the Australian Construction industry’s applicable codes, policies, standards, and best practices.
- Current Driver’s License
- Estimating experience is an advantage (but not pre-requisite).
This is a full-time position and remuneration will be based on your skills and experience.
