- Travelling to site to oversee construction of tailings storage facility designs developed by our Mine Waste team;
- Interpreting results from laboratory testing and preparing summary reports;
- Developing a basis for defensible soil strength parameters, using laboratory and field results;
- Undertaking screening level and detailed design analyses to support the design of tailings storage facilities and other earth structures, initially under close guidance from our senior specialists, but with a view to carrying out such work independently;
- Developing designs for tailings storage facilities and other earth structures;
- Managing the specification and implementing design changes while on site;
- Assist with project planning and preparation of technical deliverables;
- Assisting with the coordination of client-contractor requests;
- Preparing and delivering technical reports on time;
- Undertaking design assessments, including stability and seepage analyses;
- Preparation of technical deliverables such as proposals and reports;
- Working with and providing support to other members of the group as required;
- Working with other professionals in project teams;
- Conduct general field and office assignments under supervision;
- Undertaking site and QA/QC activities;
- Identify safety hazards and report OH&S incidents;
- Complete inductions and pre-requisites as required;
- Conduct all work to satisfy all company, client and government conditions, policies, procedures, regulations and standards, as required; and
- Other duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline;
- Basic analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Enthusiasm for fieldwork with practical experience;
- Ability to work efficiently autonomously and in a team environment;
- Good attention to detail and time management ability; and
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
