Our client is an Australian-owned and operated service provider for the Renewable Energy. Our client is specialised in the utility-scale PV solar and battery energy storage systems, with high expertise in engineering, procurement, construction and operation of large-scale projects.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Engineer will play a key role in all stages of project planning, design management, procurement, construction, documentation, site visits, permitting, technical support, and system commissioning for solar projects.
This position encompasses Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) work, ensuring the successful execution and handover of projects.
The Responsibilities
- Review, manage, and provide technical oversight for all aspects of design, including civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical engineering disciplines, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and optimize engineering solutions, ensuring cost-effectiveness, functionality, and adherence to project specifications.
- Support project scheduling, cost tracking, and quality assurance activities during the entire project lifecycle, ensuring timely and efficient project execution.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design drawings, technical specifications, contracts, change orders, progress reports, and as-built documentation.
- Develop and improve construction management documentation, such as project specifications, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) plans, quality control procedures, and project execution plans.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, identify potential issues or deviations from design, and ensure compliance with project plans, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to field personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers during the construction phase.
Selection Criteria
- A degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering field.
- At least two years of experience as an engineer in the C&I or Utility solar industry, with a focus on EPC projects.
- At least two years of relevant work experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of PV power plants, including familiarity with relevant codes and standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex engineering issues and propose effective solutions.
