The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Project Engineer - Mechanical to join our Engineering and Planning team in Melbourne, Victoria on a 15 Month Fixed Term Contract.

Reporting to the Lead Project Engineer, you will play a key role in project manage and coordinate technical activities, to assist in the delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to established company project framework, engineering and quality standards as well as customer and regulatory standards.
• Maintain collaborative and productive working relationships with peers and customers
• Execute projects in accordance with the plans and the asset strategies, including schedule, cost, and quality of outcomes
• Organise, manage, control and prepare technical submissions to meet the requirements of regulatory bodies
• Manage construction, commissioning, hand over and close out activities.

Your background

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent
• Experience in the oil and gas industry or similar environment
• Have a successful track record managing multiple projects simultaneously, and delivering results
• Effective written and oral communication skills and ability to write technical reports
• Experience in brownfields projects and facility installation and modifications.
• Proven track record of construction management and commissioning

Operating APA’s energy infrastructure requires technical solutions and sustainable operating decisions everyday. To support operations, APA invests in a program of “stay-in-business” capital works as part of each asset’s lifecycle plan. The Infrastructure Projects team builds physical projects that minimise risks, reduce costs and improve the operability of APA’s assets.

Infrastructure Projects is a passionate multi-discipline design and delivery team, covering engineering and project management. The team delivers projects across APA’s asset base from natural gas transmission, power generation, renewables and electricity transmission. These 

vision to be world class.
