The Position
With continued growth with our food FMCG clients, we are seeking to appoint a Project Engineer with Mechanical Engineering qualifications (Mechatronics, Manufacturing engineering or similar) to be part of our team. The role will be given on the job training in all project disciplines including system design, site installation and process commissioning.
Ideally you will be looking to take the next step in your career building on your sound engineering background and developing your commercial capabilities.
Typical tasks include detailed design, specification development, tender management, managing subcontractors, commissioning and project management where applicable.
You will gain professional satisfaction from delivering a diverse range of projects on time, on budget and to customers expectation.
Successful Candidates
To be successful in the role you will need to demonstrate:
· Exceptional communication skills and strong commitment to teamwork
· Technical proficiency (with tertiary qualification) in a Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering discipline with 2+ years relevant experience within food or related hygienic manufacturing industry
· Strong understanding of production modelling, line efficiency, utilisation and downtime analysis
· Familiarisation with packaging machinery including primary filling/packing, secondary packing and palletising systems
· Understanding of packaging design with previous experience of working with packaging technologist to define packaging details
· Ability to engage with multiple disciplines to define project parameters (including quality, production, maintenance, marketing, sales and engineering)
· Effective utilisation of key tools (Gantt, Autocad, cost control systems, MS Office)
· Effective management of a diverse range of activities including strong awareness and leadership in safe work practices
· Ability to work independently and travel to site as required
