We currently have an immediate requirement for a Project Engineer and a Completions Engineer to work with our client, a large rail organisation / operator, supporting the delivery and close out of major project / work packages.
Initially a 6-month contract (with an opportunity for extension), this role works as a key member of the Project and Engineering team within the business.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensure the best interest of our client (e.g. safety, quality, compliance etc.) is maintained through contractor/construction/close-out activities.
- Report on project/site progress and support the management of defects for successful asset handover.
- Provide technical and project input during site/construction activities.
- Stakeholder interface with government, contractors, management, SMEs, 3rd parties etc.
- Ensure internal and external project activities progress according to plan.
Note: Completions Engineer will heavily focus on close out activities of 2 major projects.
Skills and Requirements
- Engineering degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics etc.
- Prior experience in a similar role (Project / Site / Completions Engineer) either end to end or completions.
- Experience in large construction projects - Victoria ‘Big Build’ experience would be highly valuable.
- Experience working in rail or related heavy industries would be beneficial (e.g. road, defence, oil & gas, mining, power, utilities, telco, construction, government).
- Good written and spoken English language skills, including the ability to interface with stakeholders at all levels.
