We are seeking highly motivated, self-starters to join our team as a Project Engineer with at least 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role in our workshops at various locations across Australia. The criteria for this position is as outlined below:
Essential
- Ensure adherence to Safe Work Practices, according to Hofmann Engineering’s OH&S policies and the Occupational Health & Safety Act1984;
- Ensure adherence to the Hofmann Engineering Quality Management system, and ensure that all projects under your control conform to Hofmann Engineering’s Quality and Management Systems;
- To adherence to the standards specified in the Quality Management Manual, Procedures and Work Instructions;
- To comply with the requirements of ISO9001 regarding contract review;
- Ensure compliance and awareness of environmental legislation;
- Liaise with management and shop floor personnel on an equal and friendly basis to ensure honest two-way communication;
- Liaise with Clients on a cordial basis to encourage personal relationships;
- Maintain a Professional and Cordial relationship with Clients and Suppliers;
- To evaluate customer requirements and commit the company to delivery and price, in liaison with the Product Manager;
- To negotiate technical and commercial conditions with the customer’s representative, in liaison with the Product Manager;
- Examine the functional statements, org charts and project information to determine responsibilities and functions of workers and departments and identify any areas of duplication.
- Provide clients with clear and honest information on status of their work without divulging confidential information belonging to other clients or to Hofmann Engineering, in liaison with the Product Manager;
- Establish standards and policies for installation, quality control, inspection, testing, inspection and maintenance according to engineering principles and safety regulations.
- Examine work force usage, data and production schedules, shop floor layout and cost to determine best worker and equipment effectiveness.
- In conjunction with your Product Manager actively seek new clients, seek out new business opportunities and promote Hofmann Engineering, and in particular the capacities of the General Engineering Product Group;
- Inspect the plant to ensure optimum performance is maintained
- Direct the maintenance of plant buildings and equipment and coordinate requirements for any new designs, surveys and the maintenance schedules.
- Ensure all verbal communications with clients and suppliers is recorded and confirmed in writing;
- Maintain filing systems for jobs and tenders. Ensure contract (job) files contain Tender Review documents. Job files to contain a complete record of all transactions between the client and Hofmann Engineering: including enquiry, quote including workings, clients order, job scope, job cards, drawings, all job related test reports, all correspondence, variations, and QA documents;
- Ensure document control is maintained;
- Ensure that all quotes issued are recorded in the quote register;
- Advise product manager on all issues impacting on efficient progress of projects from a technical and commercial point of view;
- To attend meetings both internally and externally as required;
- To liaise with engineering and manufacturing personnel regarding technical issues;
- To enter job cards into our computer system and project manage jobs;
- Ensure that you are entering timesheets to maximize the chargeable hours;
- It is imperative that the Project Engineer is able to operate our Syteline computer system
Qualification
- Has completed or is undertaking a diploma in Engineering, or has a minimum of 1 years’ experience in an engineering related trade.
- Proficient computer skills, including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX, CAM, Windows, Word and Excel;
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports;
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, teamwork skills;
- Able to work with limited supervision, follow directions, willingness to learn and results oriented while maintaining attention to detail
