Job description

The Practice

ASPECT Studios is a purpose orientated, design led landscape architecture and urban design practice. With operations across Australia, Asia, UK and the Middle East, our studios believe in the power of design to positively change people’s behaviour and lives, the environment, and the planet.

Our Sydney studio lies in the heart of Redfern, is easily accessible by public transport, pet-friendly, and surrounded by parks and open spaces. Our team believes in the importance of creating a studio environment where an openness to new ideas and collaboration sits in partnership with deep knowledge and expertise. The open plan studio is a beautiful space to work – read and see more about our Studio here: https://www.aspect-studios.com/au/sydney

The Role

The Project Finance Coordinator will play a critical part in the administration of projects across a number of our Australian studios. Based in-studio, you’ll report to the Studio Commercial Lead as part of the Sydney support team, accurately preparing and issuing invoices, assisting with accounts receivable follow-up and collection processes, and ensuring compliance with internal financial standards and protocols.

This role works across several project teams and studio locations, requiring financial acumen, a sharp attention to detail, and inherent organisational skills. You’ll be tracking and supporting several projects at any given time, whilst providing reporting/budgeting support to the Sydney Commercial Lead and Group Finance Manager.

About You

If you have demonstrated experience in project-based finance and administration, we’d like to hear from you!

The successful candidate will have 3 – 5 years’ experience in bookkeeping, project invoicing and accounts administration, ideally in professional services firms.

Although experience in a design firm is not essential, demonstrated experience in landscape architecture, architecture, urban design, engineering, or construction will be highly regarded.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Outcome driven, and thrives when able to be productive in a fast-paced environment,
  • Detailed oriented, and committed to best practice,
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a problem-solving mindset,
  • A warm and professional communicator, with a natural ability to develop collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders;
  • Tech savvy – Advanced-level Excel and experience using financial/project management systems is essential; and
  • Aligned to our Purpose, and seeking to join an organisation that contributes to our communities in a positive and tangible way.

The person in this role will receive training and mentorship by experienced finance leaders, while playing a vital role in the success of industry leading design projects, not only in Sydney but across Australia.

If that sounds exciting to you, we invite you to reach out!

ASPECT Benefits

Our workplace culture is extremely supportive, creative, and driven, so you can rest assured that your workmates will have your back and help you to succeed in the role. We embrace diversity, foster professional development, and will provide you with the tools and environment you need to thrive.

Some of the benefits you'll enjoy as an ASPECT staff member include:

  • Additional two weeks of annual leave through our Purchased Leave Initiative,
  • Access to generous company paid Parental Leave benefits after 6 months,
  • MAPS Days – four paid days per year to pursue a passion project,
  • Reimbursement of fees for professional industry memberships,
  • Pet friendly studios and a busy calendar of social events.
