Job description

At Powerlink, every possibility starts with you
We believe life’s about possibilities. And so is the future. That’s why we need you.
We’re working at the heart of Queensland’s energy transformation. Now more than ever, we need people who want to help us deliver a world-class energy future and ensure we continue to navigate through this once in a generation energy challenge. Join us and make it happen.
CopperString 2032 Project
CopperString 2032 is the largest single project in the Australia transmission industry. At peak the project will have over 2,000 workers, the majority living in temporary camps along the 800km project corridor in North Queensland. As owner of the project Powerlink will work closely with contractors to identify and mobilise workers to site, coordinate and deliver construction of the new transmission line, and optimise outcomes for local communities and stakeholders.
Life at Powerlink
The Resourcing Coordinator ensures all Powerlink project staff and contractors are equipped and able to perform their role efficiently and effectively. This involves partnering with Project leadership to seamlessly onboard and induct new members, monitor and update key dates for resources, process contractor commercial terms, and coordinate off boarding processes. A key part of the role will be to coordinate the mobilisation of resources as required to attend project camps and work sites across various site roster patterns.
In preparation for construction commencing mid-2024, the Resourcing Coordinator will also contribute to various small projects including but not limited to employee engagement surveys, market relevant remuneration proposals, capability and training matrix, local employment initiatives and enterprise-wide capability development programs. You will work closely with project team leadership to support efficient and high-quality outcomes of various people activities including succession planning, diversity initiatives, performance agreements, leadership coaching and recruitment and selection.
Find a career that matters and lasts
This is a diverse role, responding to project team needs as the project transitions from detailed planning into full construction. The successful candidate will display high levels of initiative, adaptability, professionalism and a solution focussed mindset.
Day to day tasks include:

  • Maintain accurate record-keeping of project team members and their roles including resource reporting across various resource engagement types.
  • Coordinate and deliver new starter induction activities.
  • Assist with and upskill leaders to provide a high-quality employee experience.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of all contractor and labour hire invoices.
  • Work with internal Powerlink teams to manage employee related paperwork and system change.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of people activities including recruitment, turnover, absence management and diversity.
The community you will join
Based in the CopperString Project Office in Bowen Hills, this initial 12 Month Temporary role will see you reporting into the Strategic Resourcing Manager.
This role will contribute to our high performing CopperString project delivery team supporting the effective resourcing for one of our flagship energy transformation projects.
Your expertise
To be considered for this vacancy it is essential that you have previous experience working in a heavy industry, mining or construction project or site based environment. You will be familiar with roster patterns, operation of camps, and associated health and safety requirements.
You will have demonstrated ability to develop and execute plans to achieve agreed outcomes and have proven ability to solve problems in a fast-paced working environment. You will possess high level communication skills and provide professional and helpful assistance as required.
We’d also love you to have:
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers and key internal stakeholders and external contractors, including influencing others in a matrix structure.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a close-knit member within a project delivery team, to provide guidance, in a participative and consultative manner, in order to contribute to the team effectiveness.
