About the Role
Service Stream's Corporate division is seeking a Project HSEQ Manager - Lead to join our growing company. Reporting to the HSEQ Operations Manager you will provide advice and assistance to the Coliban Water project regarding HSEQ matters and facilitates consultation, coordination and communication between stakeholders to achieve HSEQ outcomes.

Reporting Line: HSEQ Operations Manager - Water
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with management and workers to implement the company's policies, systems, programs and initiatives in the region.
- Work collaboratively with the Coliban Water Project lead and HSEQ Operations Manager Water to ensure HSEQ Business Partners and resources are deployed to effectively meet the needs of the Coliban Water project.
- Work with the Senior HSEQ Team to facilitate Coliban Water projects' contribution to maintaining the company's HSEQ certifications (ISO, AS/NZS & Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner)
- Work with the Coliban Water Project Leader, HSEQ Operations Manager Water to facilitate the identification and management of HSEQ risks within the project.
- Work with the Coliban Water Project lead, HSEQ Operations Manager Water to support communication of important HSEQ information depicting risk and incident management trends as well as regulatory and industry safety updates to the internal and external stakeholders to help facilitate their decision making with regard to HSEQ matters.
- Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with the Client and other stakeholders to help facilitate the management of project/contract related HSEQ matters.
- Primary contact point for regulators and industry groups and other bodies within the region.
- Provide specialist HSEQ advice in incident prevention and safety performance improvement, workers compensation, and regulatory compliance - interpret and apply regulation, codes in a practicable manner.
- Support management in Return to Work Rehabilitation processes and develop Return to Work Plans, where required.
- Lead and coach managers and supervisors to develop their skills in incident management and the investigation process - ensure all incidents are assessed and undergo an appropriate level of investigation based on potential severity - analyse findings and identify actions that address the issues at an appropriate level of the control hierarchy - follow up, review and close actions.
- Investigate significant incidents as required and ensure investigations contain all relevant information and corrective/preventative actions are closed out in a timely manner.
- Investigation - Review investigation reports and provide feedback to investigation teams, ensure reports meet appropriate standards for Incidents/Hazards classed as low risk.
- Provide advice to HSEQ action owners within the Coliban Water project to help facilitate closure of corrective and preventative actions.
- Project Field Inspections - verify HSE management plans and work practices - provide advice on improving practices - follow up and confirm actions taken effectively manage risk and are closed out - conduct due diligence review as required.
- Lead and coach management and workers to develop their skills and continually improve the company's risk management capability - participate in the identification, assessment and controls of HSEQ risk - ensure identified HSEQ risks are elevated to the appropriate level of management for action.
- Work with the Coliban Water Project lead and HSEQ Operations Manager Water to advise and assist the Coliban Water project in achieving HSEQ objectives and targets.
- Coach and mentor managers, workers and others regarding their HSEQ accountability and responsibilities.
- Advise the Coliban Water project on compliance with regulatory and other requirements
- Consultation - Lead and coach management and workers to develop their skills in implementing and participating in the company's consultative arrangements - support local committees, team and toolbox meetings as required.
- Support the Coliban Water Project Team to ensure all workers are trained to the required level of their role
About you:
- 5 years' operating in an HSE role
- Working knowledge of Legislation, Standards and Codes and ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and AS 4801 standards
- A relevant qualification in an OH&S, environment, engineering, construction, business or related discipline
- Formal investigation training
- Return to Work training
- Water, gas, energy or other utilities industry experience desirable
