A prestigious federal government department based in Canberra is seeking a dynamic Australian citizen to join our team and support our Enterprise Digital Capabilities project and Integration Platform project, alongside various other IT initiatives.

As a Project Manager, you'll play a crucial role in driving the implementation of critical projects that enhance our digital capabilities and support our mission.
Role Overview:
Reporting to the Director of the Technology portfolio and collaborating closely with the CIO and IT Managers, this role will involve overseeing the implementation of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and bespoke applications. You'll work alongside a talented team of IT professionals, including business analysts, solution architects, testers, and developers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scoping, planning, implementing, and reporting on assigned projects to agreed standards and tolerances
- Tasking/managing project resources and coordinating with business SMEs, service providers, and stakeholders to meet project outcomes
- Developing project management documentation, including business cases, project plans, and transition plans
- Managing project risks, escalation, and issue resolution
- Supporting project procurement activities, including workshops and evaluation reports
- Establishing and maintaining working relationships with stakeholders and executive sponsors
- Guiding project-related change management activities and providing clear communication to stakeholders
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum 5 years delivering Project Management services for federal government programs/projects
- Project management certification(s) (relevant industry standards)
- Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to tailor/scale project management methodologies to project needs
- Experience in problem-solving, critical thinking, and influencing change
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience aligning outcomes to the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Experience in IT procurement activities for on-premise, cloud, or hybrid solutions
- Experience delivering solutions supporting legislative changes
- Experience in vessel safety or regulatory functions
- Experience supporting IT changes for office relocations
Location and Working Arrangements:
The role is based in Canberra at the federal government department. Candidates must be Australian citizens and willing to attend on-site as required. A Police Check is required for shortlisted candidates.
