Job description

The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalise projects according to set deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will define the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle. The Project Manager will also shape, lead, and influence key stakeholders and users through interpersonal skills, negotiation and communication, addressing issues, and managing team members across GBS and the business.

Description
The responsibilities of the Project Manager role include:
Strategy & Planning

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Communicate project expectations.
  • Maintain ongoing stakeholder communication.
  • Manage project timelines and milestones.
  • Track project progress and analyse results.
  • Define and communicate project success criteria.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews.
Resource Acquisition & Deployment
  • Estimate resources needed.
  • Prepare budget proposals.
  • Negotiate time commitments.
  • Assess and recruit additional staff or consultants.
Operational Management
  • Oversee project development.
  • Develop project plans and delegate tasks.
  • Resolve team issues and conflicts.
  • Manage dependencies and critical paths.
  • Create and deliver project reports.
  • Handle scope changes and contingency planning.
  • Supervise team members and cultivate business relationships.
  • Manage day-to-day project activities.
  • Maintain project documentation and channels.
Leadership and Relationships
  • Lead the project team.
  • Foster external stakeholder relationships.
  • Ensure the project aligns with Wilson Group methodology.
  • Collaborate with Wilson Business stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement.
  • Respond to inquiries.
  • Promote projects and change benefits.
Profile
The successful candidate will have the following:-
  • 5+ year's direct work experience in an IT project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
  • Strong familiarity with project management frameworks such as PMBOK, Prince2, or Agile.
  • Strong familiarity with project management and collaboration software like MS Project, MS Teams, and Share Point.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and presenting project delivery strategies, plans, and other relevant activities to diverse groups, including business, technical management, and testers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with technical and non-technical people at all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective leadership, coordination, motivational, negotiation, and dispute resolution skills.
  • Flexible and responsive to change, operating at a high pace.
  • Stakeholder engagement skills, including strong influencing and relationship skills and the ability to liaise and partner closely with internal business unit leaders.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to bring a project to successful completion through political sensitivity.
  • Relevant tertiary or post-qualification degree in Information Technology or Business
